“Everyone Is Sleeping But You” is an exploration into Zoë Pokorny’s collection of paintings throughout the years. 

The exhibition explores the moment of tranquility experienced in the early hours of the morning. Envisioning the earth as a living breathing human body, when your world slips into NREM sleep. The ethos being, sleepless nights are plentiful the emotions during this time joy, longing, excitement, nostalgia, the list is endless, peace in the early hours of the morning is universally experienced.

ESMoA is collaborating once again with bestselling author Cornelia Funke for Experience 53: BELONGING, featuring all women artists from April 27 to September 16, 2023. For years, Cornelia Funke has leveraged her literary and artistic success by mentoring younger artists — encouraging them to pave their own path into the world of storytelling. In 2019, as a part of her foundation “Rim of Heaven,” Cornelia piloted her Artist in Residence Program, welcoming young artists from all over the world. First starting on her farm in beachy Bonsall, Malibu, this eclectic artist collective has now migrated to the rolling hills of Fraggina, Tuscany. It is here where writers, illustrators, and musicians all mingle, brought together through recommendations and serendipity.

ESMoA’s Experience 53: BELONGING  invites visitors to dive into this uniquely tight-knit network of young international talent. Through the works on display, guests will experience what happens when you gather passionate storytellers to create in the magical environments of Malibu and Tuscany: a new generation of storytellers are born. BELONGING will feature all women artists who will showcase a wide variety of captivating works that span a myriad of disciplines.
